Autumn Reflections
Shortening days,
Lengthening nights,
Encourage Earth
To take its rest.
Plants' bounty
Has been given,
Seeds and fruit
Gathered in.
Glory, for a moment,
Colours all the trees;
Then branches are
Stripped bare 'till spring.
Earth takes its rest,
Gathers strength
For next year's labour,
'Neath Creator's hands;
Blessed be the Ancient One.
